Commissioner Dave Pearsall was appointed as a Fire Commissioner in January of 2013. He was raised in Thurston County. Commissioner Pearsall graduated from Fort Steilacoom Community College and attended St. Martin’s University.

Commissioner Pearsall worked for the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office from 1986 to 2020. He worked his way through the ranks of the Sheriff’s Office retiring as a Chief Deputy. In January of 2023 he was asked to come out of retirement to serve as the Undersheriff. In march 2025 Undersheriff Pearsall retired from the Sheriff’s Office for the second time after completing 38 years in law enforcement.

Commissioner Pearsall is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is a Co-Founder of the nonprofit, Chaplains Association for Public Safety -Thurston County. He has served on numerous other boards related to law enforcement over the years. Commissioner Pearsall and his wife raised their family in the Griffin area, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, woodworking, and photography.
