Corey Rux

Fire Chief

Chief Corey Rux brings 28 years of experience in the fire service to his leadership at Griffin Fire Department. He spent 22 years with Montesano Fire Department, where he served as both Captain and Fire Chief, and joined Griffin Fire in July 2020. A seasoned paramedic for 20 years, Corey is now in his 15th year as a Fire Chief, known for his commitment to servant leadership and strong operational focus.

A resident of Steamboat Island, Chief Rux is deeply involved in the fire service community and the Griffin Neighborhood Association. Outside the department, he enjoys hiking, exploring in his Sprinter van, and spending time with his wife, Nikki, and his two children, Austyn and Addisyn. He also loves gathering with extended family and close friends, savoring great food, sharing wine, and planning his next travel adventure.
